Step 1: Create a Profile

If you do not have a log in, begin the Forum proposal submission process by creating an account here: http://nationaladaptationforum.org/user/dashboard.

a. Click here and you will be directed to the MY FORUM page
b. You will be asked to create your personal PROFILE.
c. Once you have set-up your profile you will receive a confirmation email with a temporary password. Please log in and change your password as your email and password allow you access to your PROFILE and PROPOSAL INFORMATION and REGISTRATION.

Step 2: Log-in/ Reset Your Password on Your Existing Profile

a. Click here and you will be directed to the MY FORUM page
b. If you remember your email and password from NAF 2017, then you can use the same information to log in.
c. If you have forgotten your password, you can click the RESET PASSWORD button.
 

Step 3: Create Your Session Proposal

Complete the SESSION or PRESENTATION SUBMISSION INFORMATION, PRESENTERS, KEYWORDS and SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS sections.
 
SESSION SUBMISSION INFORMATION:
  • Session Title (15 word limit)
    • If you are doing a two part session, please indicate Part 1 or Part 2 in the title. 
  • Session Type (Symposium, Working Group, Training)
  • Professional Development Credit (If you are planning to offering professional development credits, please check box and describe how the professional development credits will be made available.)
  • Twitter Summary (132 character limit in order to leave room for the #NAF2019 hashtag)
  • Abstract (250 word limit)
    • If you are doing a two part session, please indicate Part 1 or Part 2 in the abstract. 
 
PRESENTATION SUBMISSION INFORMATION:
  • Session Title (15 word limit)
  • Presentation Type (Oral Presentation, Poster, or Tool)
  • Professional Development Credit (If you are planning to offer professional development credits, please check box and describe how the professional development credits will be made available.)
  • Twitter Summary (132 character limit in order to leave room for the #NAF2019 hashtag)
  • Abstract (250 word limit)
 
PRESENTERS/PANELISTS / CO-ORGANIZERS/ CO-AUTHORS
  • Symposium Only: You will need to include a minimum of three presenters for a symposium session. Include name, email address, affiliation and if applicable presentation title for each individual presenter in your session. Symposium sessions should include presenters from a variety of perspectives from more than one organization. If your session is accepted, there will be an opportunity to provide abstracts for each presentation in your session.
  • Training and Working Groups: You may list co-organizers or co-authors for your session (name, email address and organization affiliation), but it is not required.
 
KEYWORDS
Program Keywords: These will be used to develop tracks within the Forum program.
  • Cross-cutting themes (select only one- see list below)
  • Focal Topic (select only one- see list below)
 
CAKE Cataloging Keywords: These will be used to tag all accepted proposals for inclusion in the Climate Adaptation Knowledge Exchange (CAKEx.org) database. At least one must be selected for each category.
  • Climate Change Target Impacts (select all that apply for the scope of the work being presented - see list below)
  • Regions (select all that apply for the scope of the work being presented - see list below)
  • Jurisdiction/Scale (select all that apply for the scope of the work being presented - see list below)
  • Sectors (select all that apply for the scope of the work being presented - see list below)
 
SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS
Please answer the following questions to provide reviewers a better sense of your submission. In some cases, you may not have experience with the topic, in which case please take this as an opportunity to consider what you could do in these areas.
  • How are issues of equity incorporated into the work being described in the session/presentation? (100 word limit)
  • How is cross-sectoral planning or interaction incorporated into the work being described in the session/presentation? (100 word limit)
  • How are you evaluating the efficacy of the adaptation action being described in the session/presentation? (100 word limit)
  • How are climate science and uncertainty incorporated into the work described in the session/presentation? (100 word limit)

Step 4: Save, Preview, or Submit Your Proposal

After completion of the submission form, you must click SAVE. This will take you to summary screen. From here you can EDIT PROPOSAL or SUBMIT PROPOSAL. Once all information is complete, make sure to submit your proposal by clicking on the SUBMIT PROPOSAL button. Confirm the session is submitted by checking status on your MY FORUM page and checking your inbox for a confirmatory email.

Step 5: Submit an Additional Proposal

If you would like to submit additional session proposals, return to the MY FORUM page (link in upper left hand corner of your proposal summary page) and select ADD SESSION PROPOSAL option and follow the instructions to complete the SUBMISSION INFORMATION, PRESENTERS, KEYWORDS, and SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS sections again.

Step 6: To Modify an Existing Proposal

(e.g., change speakers, edit an abstract, etc.)
a. Click here and you will be directed to the MY FORUM page. (If you are not already logged in, click LOG IN to enter your email and password.)
b. Click on the proposal you would like to edited in the SESSIONS section of the MY FORUM page.
c. Edit information in the SUBMISSION INFORMATION, PRESENTERS, KEYWORDS and SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS tabs and click SAVE.
d. Review the submission information, and if everything is correct, click the SAVE button.
