The National Adaptation Forum is the preeminent climate adaptation conference in the U.S.! The richness of content is unsurpassed and the diversity of attendees creates a networking and learning experience unlike any other in the field. I look forward to attending this conference every two years and seeing so many people with who I have established relationships over the years. I can’t wait until 2026!
The National Adaptation Forum is a conference Goldilocks: big enough to attract innovative leaders from across the United States and intimate enough to forge genuine connections. This event is invaluable for climate adaptation professionals!
As a first-time attendee, the National Adaptation Forum exceeded expectations. NAF offered numerous opportunities for peer-to-peer learning and making new connections, including meeting long-time colleagues off-screen for the first time. NAF demonstrates just how wide and deep the world of adaptation work is across the country, and I have many takeaways to apply to my local work.

[The Forum] has sessions on every aspect of climate action planning and implementation and a plethora on coordination and collaboration with tribe governments, agency/CBO partners and the public. Attendees at the 2024 forum were curious, kind and communicative. The panels and speakers also have a variety of expertise and fostered unique conversations. I look forward to attending in the future because NAF feels like a momentum builder in such a critical movement!
It was truly a breath of fresh air to attend a conference where everyone present was excited and wanting to find avenues for collaboration that I know will lead to positive change.
Exhibiting at NAF was one of the smartest things we could have done as we explore ways to better connect with practitioners in the adaptation and sustainability sectors.
The National Adaptation Forum allows participants to connect with long-time contacts and respected adaptation and resilience leaders while featuring speakers with different perspectives that challenge participants to think broader and deeper about what climate adaptation is, who should be involved, and how to make an impact.
I’ve attended NAF since 2014 and this was by far the best. The special focus on frontline communities and environmental and climate justice was especially appealing and appreciated.
This was my first NAF and it was refreshing and inspiring to converse with so many practitioners in the adaptation field. I left with practical tools and lessons-learned shared by others that will directly inform the work I am doing now. I hope that I am able to share back to the NAF in the next forum!
I love the mix of people at this conference – practitioners, policymakers, scientists, students. I had so many interesting and engaging conversations, and made great connections. I’m looking forward to the next Forum already!
NAF is the place to be if you are working on climate adaptation and resilience. There is no better place to network and learn about this developing field.
The National Adaptation Forum is the most interesting environment and climate change conference I attend. It attracts a good variety of knowledgeable, interested and interesting people, scientists, researchers, government officials, practitioners, and vendors.
Awe-inspiring speakers, engaging sessions, and a clear call to take action in our respective fields.
As someone who has written about, studied, and worked on adaptation since the late 1980s I find the NAFs to be stimulating, fascinating, and extremely useful and rewarding to attend.
If you work in adaptation in the US, this is the place to be! There are always new faces, and yet, it always feels like a meeting of friends, and it’s good a good way to take the pulse on what is happening across the country!
This is one of highest value conferences I have ever attended. The quality of the presenters and the usefulness of the information was phenomenal.
As a graduating PhD student, this week at NAF was pivotal for learning more about the different non-academic organizations in the adaptation space, what work is being down, and making future career and collaboration connections. I’ll definitely be attending again.
