7th National Adaptation Forum to Convene in Pittsburgh to Advance Climate Adaptation Solutions

Pittsburgh, PA – May 6, 2026 – The National Adaptation Forum (“Forum”), the premier gathering of climate adaptation professionals in the United States, will convene in Pittsburgh, PA from May 12-14, with an outstanding program designed to advance our collective ability to effectively adapt to the challenges of climate change—in every sector, every state and for people and nature.

This event brings together policymakers, practitioners, researchers, students, and community leaders working at the forefront of climate resilience–embodying the reality that we are all in this together.

The 7th National Adaptation Forum serves as a critical space to share innovative strategies, build cross-sector partnerships, and accelerate equitable solutions to the climate crisis. This year’s event is expected to draw more than 850 participants.

“At a time when we are facing increasingly urgent climate impacts, the National Adaptation Forum is where innovation takes shape,” said Lara Hansen, EcoAdapt’s Chief Scientist. “This space cultivates  collaboration and knowledge-sharing, which propagate action that leads to real-world adaptation solutions happening at scale.”

The 2026 Forum will feature:

  • 90+ sessions covering all aspects of climate adaptation, ranging from transportation infrastructure to species conservation, from environmental justice to insurance and risk management. Explore the complete program
  • A plenary panel, Migration as Adaptation: The Impact of Climate Mobility on Cities and Ecosystems, with experts who will discuss the social, political, and environmental forces shaping climate mobility and share insights on resilience planning, policy, and community engagement.
  • Interactive symposia, working groups and trainings designed to support attendees at every level of experience.
  • Opportunities for media to engage directly with experts, community leaders and innovators of all types.

With a strong emphasis on practical implementation of equitable, nature-based and community-driven solutions, the Forum highlights how adaptation efforts can support ecosystems and the most vulnerable human populations as essential elements of an effective national approach to climate resilience.  The Forum aims to foster “action today for a better tomorrow.”

Media are invited to attend and cover the event. A dedicated media room, interview opportunities, and curated story angles will be available to support coverage. For media inquiries, interview requests, or to register for a press pass, please contact outreach@nationaladaptationforum.org.
